CRISIS ACTORS CAN GET PURPLE HEART BECAUSE OF NDAA
Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh announced that he was approving the awarding of the Purple Heart and its civilian counterpart, the Secretary of Defense Medal for the Defense of Freedom, to victims of the shooting. This is a result of Congress expanding the eligibility requirement under a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2015.[52] On April 10, 2015, nearly 50 awards were handed out to dozens of survivors.[53]
