They used SIMUNITION (wax rounds), SQUIBS (special effects using compressed air, fake blood and debris), and AVR or Augmented Virtual Reality rounds. They used lots of training bodies/ dolls.  The body counts don't add up--the stories don't either--and the crisis actors are the worst I've seen.
